It’s All About Lisa – and You!
As I’ve mentioned previously, one of the many advantages of being a member of the ARMA Keystone PA Chapter is that you have access to The Lisa A. Broaddus Education Fund. This means we offer scholarships to assist YOU in meeting your professional goals.
You can read about Lisa on the ARMA Keystone website - https://www.armakeystonepachapter.org/lisa-a-broaddus-fund. But let’s hear more about her from Greg Cornwell, a friend and colleague of Lisa’s at Fox Rothschild, LLP. Greg says:
“We often called her “LB3,” because we already had two senior (responsibility, not age-wise) people in our department whose initials were L and B when she joined Fox. Lisa’s positive energy changed the atmosphere of every room she walked into for the better. You would sense it, look around, and sure enough, there she was. She lifted your spirits just by being near you. Every morning when she arrived at work, she greeted the team, “Good morning, Foxes!” My Philadelphia team has “huddled” every Tuesday morning at 10:00 since I arrived in 2014. Each year since 2018, I begin the “huddles” between the anniversary of her death – November 28 and her birthday – December 21, “Good morning, Foxes!” in her memory.
“As it relates to her Fund…The ICRM announced the creation of the CRA certification while Lisa was at Fox. She and two other members of my “senior team” in Philadelphia shared study materials, and may have even done some studying together at lunch. Even though she had already amassed 25+ years of RIM/IG experience before she arrived at Fox, she was genuinely excited to pursue the CRA certification. And she highly encouraged the other two to pursue it. Unfortunately, she did not achieve it before her premature death.
“Personally, she had a close-knit and loving family. She raved about her two grandchildren to no end. She LOVED to celebrate her and her two daughters’ birthdays. The daughters’ birthdays are about a month after Lisa’s, on consecutive days. Each year, on Lisa’s birthday and on the daughters’ birthdays, I text to let her daughter know I still think of Lisa and of them.
“Below is a poster board Lisa took the lead in creating for me for Bosses Day in 2016. (I included part of a chair for scale.) It has been in my office ever since. It will move with me to our new offices across the street later this year. “
So, as you can see, Lisa was well-loved and respected. She would be tickled pink to know that people are taking advantage of this education fund to further their own professional goals. I know I plan to!
I'll report back!
